My favourite weekends in San Francisco combine a mix of hanging out in local spots and exploring new ones in other areas of the city, this weekend was the perfect blend of both. I have been to Le Marais Bakery many times for coffee dates and afternoon pastries but had yet to try their extended brunch menu so on Saturday we spent a leisurely morning there waiting for the clouds to part. Before we left I picked up some bread for the weekend and it has made my list for one of the best breads in the city.
As a lover of bread I couldn’t pass up an alfresco evening spent with friends on the patio of Hog Island Oyster Company in the Ferry building. They serve Acme bread, another of my favourites, which you get to enjoy along with waterfront views of the Bay Bridge and Treasure Island. After the sunset and the temperature dropped we headed inside to Coqueta, as a gin drinker I much enjoyed sampling their Spanish style Gin and Tonics. I have been on the hunt for a good tapas restaurant so I will definitely be back to sample their food.
