My week…

My new wellies couldn’t have arrived soon enough as this week the weather has ranged from light showers to heavy rainfall and I have found myself on many occasion dreaming about springtime.  After a warm spell in February it has been hard to go back to my winter wardrobe so I have been seeking simple pleasures that brighten my mood such as fresh flowers, evening baking sessions and afternoon tea parties.

Despite the weather I am forging on with spring dressing and one trend that I can’t wait to embrace is the off the shoulder silhouette.  To me it epitomises summer and is versatile enough to be worn for a casual day out or a fancy evening event. On overcast days I’ll be pairing an off shoulder jumper (such as this one) with a skirt and boots or alternatively, a top like this or this with washed denim or white cropped jeans. I also love the idea of a bright dress such as this one (currently on sale with an extra 40% off) on a warm sunny day. Here are a few of my other favourites I have been eyeing this week:
Urban Outfitters Ecote Off-The-Shoulder Swing Dress $69 reduced to $39.99
Mara Hoffman Ruffle Top $178
ASOS Striped Sundress $65
Re:named Petals Top $51

The bad weather this week is making summer feel a long way away and I am ready for a holiday. I’m planning a warm weekend getaway soon but until then I’m living vicariously through my sister who has been in South Africa working on a project with rhinos. She now has a couple of weeks free to explore neighbouring countries including Mozambique, Botswana, Namibia and Zimbabwe. I can’t wait to see her photos from Victoria Falls and her safari when she’s home.
