First Time Thanks

Happy Thanksgiving! I am so excited to share in my first Thanksgiving with my American friends. The idea of Thanksgiving originated in England and was brought across to New England in the 1600s so I think that it is very fitting that I get to share in the day.
The 6 hour + time difference from the States to Continental Europe will finally be working in our favour as we will get to watch some American football and enjoy a Thanksgiving feast after work.
As a rookie, I have poured over many table decor sites and here our some top tips I have for creating a festive fall table:

1. Start with a simple colour palette to act as your base tone (such as red, burgundy, orange or green) and then incorporate accent colours through additional pieces

2. Create interest with a mix of different shapes, sizes and colours

3. Incorporate natural elements to create dimension in your centrepiece with pine cones and fall leaves

4. Candles add a warm glow to any centrepiece, use tealights in a range of different candle holders

5. I cannot think of any occasion where flowers can’t enhance a setting. Here I used delicate white roses to contrast the rustic leaves, pine cones and pumpkins

6. Personalise each place setting with items from the centrepiece such as gourds or pinecones
